# Domotz MCP Server Setup

This guide will help you to connect your AI tool to the Domotz MCP Server.

**Server's Specs:**

Transport**:** HTTP (remote — no local installation required)

## Claude.ai

Claude.ai supports remote MCP servers through the Integrations settings.
1. Go to https://claude.ai and sign in

2. Click **Customize** from the left-hand menu..

3. Navigate to **Connectors**, click the **+ Icon,** and click **Add custom connector**:

Connecting GitHub Integration in the Software Interface

1. Navigate to the left sidebar and select "Connectors" under the "Customize" section.
2. In the Connectors panel, locate the "GitHub Integration" option.
3. Click on the "Connect" button located in the main window to initiate the GitHub integration process.
4. Follow any additional prompts to complete the connection.

5. Enter the following:
   - **Name:** Domotz
   - **URL:** [https://mcp.domotz.com/mcp](https://mcp.domotz.com/mcp)

Then click "Add":

Adding a Custom Connector in Claude

1. Access the "Connectors" section from the Customize menu.
2. Select "Add custom connector (BETA)" to connect Claude to your data.
3. In the provided field, enter the name “Domotz” and the URL “https://mcp.domotz.com/mcp”.
4. Optionally, expand "Advanced settings" for additional options, noting the importance of trusted connectors.
5. Click the "Add" button to finalize, or choose "Cancel" to abort the operation.

6. Click "Connect"

Connecting to Domotz in the Interface.

1. Navigate to the "Customize" section on the left sidebar.
2. Select "Connectors" from the list.
3. In the "Connectors" panel, find and click on "Domotz."
4. Notice the message indicating you are not yet connected to Domotz.
5. Click the "Connect" button to initiate the connection process.

7. Login to your Domotz Account

1. Enter your email address in the "Email" field.
2. Enter your password in the "Password" field.
3. Check the "Remember me on this browser" box if you wish to stay logged in across sessions on this device.
4. Click the "Login" button to access your account.
5. If you're new to Domotz, click the "Sign up" link to create a new account.

8. Configure Permissions (optional)

1. Locate the "Connectors" section on the left sidebar, nested under the "Customize" category.
2. Select "Domotz" to open its settings. Ensure it shows as connected in the top right.
3. In the Domotz settings panel, review "Tool permissions" options.
4. Under "Read-only tools," view a list of tools with toggles for permissions.
5. Use the toggle buttons on the right of each tool to adjust access permissions. Options for "Always allow" and other permission levels are available.

Set these tools to **Always allow** so Claude does not show permission prompts for routine actions. For write/delete tools, you may choose not to enable **Always allow** if you prefer to be asked for permission before performing write operations. Keep in mind that enabling **Always allow** for write/delete tools may allow potentially destructive actions without confirmation.
**To use it in a conversation:**

- Start a new **chat** or open a **Project**

- The Domotz integration should appear as available:

Navigating the Interface and Using Skills

1. At the top center, there's a personalized greeting that says "Happy Tuesday," followed by a name.
2. Beneath the greeting, there's a search bar for typing skills, with a plus icon next to it for adding skills.
3. A dropdown menu appears with options such as "Add files or photos," "Add to project," and "Skills" leading to further sub-options.
4. Under "Connectors," options include "Manage connectors," "Add connector," and others. The toggle labeled "Domotz" indicates its active status.
5. "Web search" is selected under the "Research" category, as indicated by a checkmark.
6. To the right of the search bar, a dropdown labeled "Opus 4.7" appears, likely indicating a version or mode selection.
7. A labeled button, "Claude's choice," is situated next to the dropdown, indicating a potential preset or saved configuration.

Use the dropdown and toggles to customize tools, manage resources, and execute tasks efficiently based on your requirements.

**Note:** MCP integrations on Claude.ai are available on Pro and higher plans. The integration persists across sessions once added.

**Please note**:
If you're on a Team or Enterprise plan, the connector must be set up by your Organization Owner (or a Primary Owner) before individual members can use it. Once the owner has added and configured the connector at the organization level, team members will see it available to connect from their own account.

## Claude Code

Open a terminal and run the add command.

```

**What this does:**

- The MCP server is available automatically every time you run `claude` from this folder

- `--scope user` means the server is active in on every Claude session

**Verify it's connected:**

Once inside the Claude Code session, type:

/mcp
```

You should see `domotz` listed as connected. If it shows as failed, check your internet connection and that the server URL is reachable.

## ChatGPT

ChatGPT supports the Domotz MCP Server as an approved app.

### **Steps to add the Domotz App**

1. Go to **[https://chatgpt.com](https://chatgpt.com)** and sign in
2. Select **Plugins**from the left-hand menu or click profile/business icon from the bottom left corner then select **Settings** and then to **Plugins**.
3. Search for **Domotz**

1. On the left sidebar, select "Apps" to access various applications.
2. In the main area, find the "Apps" section with a search bar.
3. Use the search bar to look for specific apps, such as typing "domotz" to find the "Domotz" app.
4. The "Domotz" app allows you to monitor and manage networks.

4. Click **Connect** then **Sign in with Domotz**

Connect Domotz to ChatGPT.

1. A dialog box titled "Add Domotz to ChatGPT" appears, explaining the benefits of integrating Domotz with ChatGPT for enhanced network management using natural language.
2. Two buttons are available: "Sign in with Domotz" to proceed with the integration, and "Cancel" to abort the process.
3. Below, toggle the option "Reference memories and chats" to allow using chat history in responses.
4. Several information points detail privacy aspects, including how data is controlled and potential risks.
5. Links to terms of use and privacy notice are provided for more detailed information.

### Using the Domotz App in ChatGPT

Initiating a Task in a Software Application

1. Locate the search bar in the center with “Ask anything” as a placeholder.
2. Click the plus button labeled with "Domotz" next to the search bar.
3. A dropdown menu appears with options: Add photos & files, Recent files, Company knowledge, Create image, Deep research, Web search, More, and Projects.
4. Select "More" to reveal additional options, including Agent mode, Canvas, Create task, and Domotz.
5. Choose "Create task" to proceed with task creation.

Start a **new chat**, click the **+**icon, navigate to **More**, and make sure **Domotz** is selected.

- You can now interact with your Domotz environment using natural language

- No server URL or manual setup is required
- The Domotz MCP maintains RBAC and User Management Compliant
- Authentication is handled directly through your Domotz account
- The app remains connected for future chats once authorized
- Availability may depend on your ChatGPT/Claude plan and feature access

## Copilot Studio

1. Open your agent in **Copilot Studio** and go to the **Tools** tab.
2. Click **Add a tool**.

Create Your First Tool in Domotz

1. Navigate to the "Tools" section by selecting the "Tools" tab in the top navigation menu.
2. Click the "Add a tool" button in the center of the screen to start creating a new tool.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to configure the tool and let your agent do more tasks.

Use this feature to enhance the capabilities of your agents in Domotz.

1. Select **Add new**, then choose **MCP**.

Adding a New Tool in the Software Interface

1. To add a new tool, begin by clicking the "Add new" buttons for options such as Computer use, Workflows, Prompt, or MCP.

2. Use the search bar to find tools by typing scenarios like "send an email."

3. Explore categorized tool options under tabs like Popular, Connector, Prompt, Workflows, REST API, and Model Context Protocol.

4. Select a tool from options like Outlook Mail, Teams, Outlook Calendar, SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Dataverse, Azure Data Explorer, or Dynamics 365 ERP.

5. Click "See more" for additional tools not immediately visible.

6. Provide feedback on your experience with adding tools using the thumbs up or down icons at the bottom left.

7. Click "Cancel" to exit without adding anything.

1. Enter the following: – **Server name:** domotz – **Server description:** Custom MCP server Connector for Domotz – **Server URL:** [https://mcp.domotz.com/mcp](https://mcp.domotz.com/mcp)
2. Under **Authentication**, select **OAuth 2.0**, then choose **Dynamic discovery** as the type.
3. Click **Create** (or the equivalent confirm action). Copilot Studio will register a custom connector.

Add a Model Context Protocol Server

1. Enter the server name in the "Server name" field. Example: domotz.
2. Fill in the "Server description" with details like "Custom MCP server Connector for Domotz."
3. Provide the "Server URL," ensuring it is complete, such as "https://mcp.domotz.com/mcp."
4. Choose an authentication method: Select "None," "API key," or "OAuth 2.0."
5. Under "Type," select either "Dynamic discovery," "Dynamic," or "Manual." Note: The server must support OAuth 2.0 Dynamic Client Registration for Dynamic Discovery Authentication. If unsupported, ensure your server exposes a valid registration_endpoint in its OpenID configuration. Use the "Learn more" link if needed.

Use the "Back" button to return to the previous screen.

1. Under **Connection**, click the dropdown and select **Create new connection**.
2. Sign in with your **Domotz account** to authenticate and approve access.
3. Once connected, click **Add** to attach the tool to your agent.

Adding a Domotz MCP custom connector.

1. Confirm that the "domotzmcp custom connector has been created" message is visible, indicating successful creation.

2. View the connector details: "domotzmcp" with the description "Custom MCP server Connector for Domotz."

3. Check the Connection status, which is currently set to "Not connected."

4. Click "Create new connection" if no connections are available to establish a new connection.

5. Use the "Back," "Add," or "Cancel" buttons at the bottom for navigation or action completion.
