# How to enable SNMP on Cisco Small Business switches (SG series – SG200, SG300, SG500)

- Access the web interface of the switch.
- In the menu bar, select SNMP.
- Select 'Communities' in the SNMP submenu and click **Add** to create a new SNMP community.

- Then in the pop-window that appears, please select**All** in the 'SNMP Management Station' section, type **public** (or another string of your choice) in the Community String textbox, then select 'Access Mode' **Read-Only**radio button, then the '**View Name**' checkbox and then select the **DefaultSuper**name in the dropdown menu:   Configure SNMP Community Settings 1. Select "All" under SNMP Management Station. 2. Enter the necessary value in the "Community String" field. Example shown is "public." 3. Choose "Read Only" for Access Mode. 4. Check the box next to "View Name" and select "DefaultSuper" from the dropdown menu. Click "Apply" to save the settings or "Close" to exit without saving.
