## What’s new

### Monitoring Dashboards

Your dashboard, your way. You can now create your own Custom Monitoring Dashboards tailored to your needs.

The Domotz Monitoring Dashboard is a customizable dashboard that allows you to choose the information to monitor for devices across different Domotz Agents (Sites).

Monitoring Dashboard Overview

1. The dashboard is titled "Demo 201" and contains monitoring shortcuts for Cisco Switches, Netgear, and Ruckus devices.
2. Each section lists multiple devices with columns for Device Name, Agent, Status, IP Address, Model, and additional metrics.
3. In the "Cisco Switches shortcut," devices such as "AMS-28AP #1" and "SW1 - Main Switch" are listed. The Status is "Online" in green, indicating active connections.
4. The "Netgear shortcut" section includes devices like "AC100 WIFi Router" with Status shown as "Offline" in red, indicating a lack of connectivity.
5. The "Ruckus" section lists 13 devices, showing their Status and RTD Worst values, such as "12.5 ms" for some entries.
6. Additional columns across all sections provide metrics on location, RTD Median, RTD Packets Lost, and syName.
7. The sidebar features options to add new dashboards and switch between different views, like "First Dashboard" and "Demo 201."

Use these sections to assess device connectivity and performance across different networks.

This new dashboard gives you the possibility to create multiple Monitoring Dashboards and to include different widgets (currently limited to Monitoring Tables) in each Dashboard. All this is shared across the entire account so that each Team Member (including Field Operators) will be able to see the Monitoring Dashboards created by a colleague. Access to the devices may be limited based on a Team Member's permission level.

You now also have the ability to add SNMP monitoring on multiple devices within the same Monitoring Table, in a few simple clicks.

### Custom Drivers (Beta)

You can now develop your own software to interact with discovered devices monitored through the Domotz Agent (Drivers).

Custom Driver Code Interface for HVAC Driver

1. Title: "Driver Code" - This section provides an interface for creating custom drivers using JavaScript to control and inspect network devices.
2. Functions List:
   - "validate" indicates the function is successfully implemented.
   - "get_status" is also successfully implemented.
3. Code Editor: Displays JavaScript functions:
   - "function variableParser(result)" initializes and loops through results to create variables based on device data.
   - "function callback(error, response, body)" handles errors and checks the response status code. If an error occurs, it logs the error stack.
4. Status Message: Bottom right corner shows "The Code is valid" confirming the code is correct.

Through a simple JavaScript code, you can start to retrieve information out of any IP-based device monitored through the Domotz Agent. For instance, the above script can be used to retrieve sensor information about an HVAC system:

Device monitoring interface for C4 - EA5 system.

1. Shows the device status as online with its IP address and a unique identifier.
2. Displays tabs for Info, Connect, Alerts, History, SNMP, TCP, Driver, and Sensor for navigating system settings.
3. TestDriver section is linked to one device.
4. Sample Time dropdown menu is set to 5 Minutes, indicating how frequently data is updated.
5. Lists various temperature readings with labels such as BS AV Room, BS Playroom, BS Gym, 1F MasterBed, and BS Hallway, each showing current temperature values.
6. Each reading entry has icons for additional options, such as trends or removal.

Each variable created through the Custom Driver has an associated history:

Device Variables History Graph Overview

1. The graph displays the historical data of a device variable over time, with time on the horizontal axis and variable values on the vertical axis.
2. A data point is highlighted at October 5, 10:10 AM, with a value of 66.00.
3. Use the "Zoom to" options on the top right to view data over different time frames: 1 day, 7 days, or 1 month.
4. The graph shows fluctuations between approximately 60.0 and 80.0 units over the specified time period.

Variables are created dynamically through the JavaScript code. The same custom driver code can be applied to multiple devices, even across multiple Agents.

## Improvements

### New Menu - More Space

You asked, we delivered! Domotz has introduced a new reduced menu in the Desktop and WebApp so that there is additional workspace space for you to use:

Device Monitoring Dashboard Overview

1. The dashboard lists 46 agents, categorized by status: Healthy (0), Issues (4), and Down (42).

2. Inactive Agents and Pending Collaboration Requests are displayed with "Review" and "Manage" options.

3. Individual agents include "Agent Review," "Draper Office," "Pisa Office," and "Sofiaberry on 192.168.5.x." Their status shows important devices and offline counts.

4. A map on the right pinpoints the geographical location of agents, with markers for specific sites like Pisa and Rome in Italy.

The menu can be expanded or collapsed at any moment:

Agent Status and Navigation Overview

1. The left panel displays navigation options including "All Agents," "Monitoring Dashboards," "Search & Manage," and "Alerts Settings." Use these options to explore different features and settings.

2. The main section lists agents under "My Agents (46)" with a text box for filtering agents by specific criteria.

3. Two status tabs, "Healthy" and "Issues," help filter agents based on their condition. Selecting "Issues" shows agents with alerts.

4. Each agent entry includes a name (e.g., "CRESTRON - 00:10:7F:81:19:38") and status update (e.g., "Offline for 4 years") to indicate activity and connection state. Use these details to monitor and manage agent performance.

Each entry in the menu gives access to additional functionalities. All the Account Management features (available in the [Portal](https://portal.domotz.com)) are now accessible through the Account section:

Account Page Overview

1. Account & Billing Info: Configure your account information, manage billing details, and control invoice settings.

2. Subscriptions: Manage your subscriptions, including deleting the agent, cleaning up agent data, and handling agent payments.

3. Booster Pack: Enhance your capabilities to support larger networks using a single Domotz Agent.

4. Branding: Update your contact information and upload a company logo to create custom network reports for clients.

5. Team Management: Edit team settings and control access for organization members to a shared pool of agents.

On the left sidebar, navigate options such as All Agents, Monitoring Dashboards, and Search & Manage. Under Setup, find Alerts Settings, Services & Drivers, and Account information.

### Default SNMP Credentials

It is now possible to define default SNMP credentials on a whole site (Agent).

Edit SNMP Default Authentication Settings

1. In the Agent & Customer Configuration section, choose the appropriate tab: Agent Settings, Customer, or Residential Client App.
2. Under Agent Name, verify that the correct agent, such as "Dr. Corp - Draper Office," is selected.
3. Locate the "SNMP Default Authentication" section.
4. Click to edit the settings:
   - Select the SNMP version (v1, v2, or v3).
   - Choose the Authentication Type: None, MD5, or SHA.
   - If applicable, enter the Password.
   - Select the Encryption Type: None, DES, or AES.
   - Input the Data Encryption Key if required.
5. Optional: Check the box to apply these settings as the agent default and to all existing devices of the current agent.
6. Click "Apply" to save changes or "Cancel" to exit without saving.

This means that you can define the credentials (and protocols) that should be used to access SNMP information on all the existing (and future) devices discovered by that specific Agent. If no default credentials are specified at the Agent level, Domotz uses the public/private community strings on SNMP v2.

It is still possible to override the default credentials at the device level.

### Liongard integration

It is now possible to integrate Liongard Data Aggregation Platform with Domotz so that Domotz can be used as one of the possible Inspectors within Liongard.

This integration allows you to show the devices you monitor with Domotz in the Liongard customer-facing portal. This is beneficial because it instantly shows your customers all the technology you are managing on a network.

For more information, visit [how to set up the Domotz and Liongard integration](https://help.domotz.com/user-guide/liongard/) on the Liongard help center.

### ESXi / VMWare Server - OS Monitoring

It is now possible to have Domotz reporting Operating System information extracted out of the ESXi / VMWare servers:

ESXi Server 6.5 Status and Details

1. The server is online with the IP address 192.168.43.193, uptime details, and vendor information shown.
2. Available actions include "Wake On LAN" and "Auto-Wake On LAN," with a disabled "Wake Up Now" button.
3. Operating system information is provided, including:
   - Name: ESXi
   - Family: esxi
   - Vendor: VMware
   - Version: 6.5.0
   - Build Number: #1 SMP Release build-13932383, dated June 7, 2019, at 21:08:10
   - Architecture: x86_64

This information are extracted using SSH protocol. For more information, please visit [OS Monitoring user guide](https://help.domotz.com/user-guide/os-monitoring-feature/).

### Network interfaces configuration via Public API

It is now possible to check and configure the list of Network Interfaces (Virtual and Logical Network interfaces) to be scanned and monitored by the Domotz Agent.

Using the Domotz Public API, you can list all the available Network Interfaces available on the device hosting the Domotz Agent, and define the policies to scan and monitor devices on the available interfaces. For instance, this feature can be used to configure the Domotz Agent so that it does not scan and monitor devices on one (or more) Network Interfaces available on the host.

For more information, please visit [Domotz Public API Documentation](https://portal.domotz.com/developers/#domotz-public-api-networking).

### Variable History via Public API

It's now possible to retrieve the list of all possible variables, their current values and historical values via Public API.

For more information, please visit [Domotz Public API Documentation](https://portal.domotz.com/developers/#domotz-public-api-variables).

### Automatic Closure of Autotask Tickets

We've improved the integration with Datto Autotask PSA. Now Domotz can be configured to automatically closes Autotask PSA tickets when the following monitored events occur:

- Device goes up
- Agent network goes up

Connecting an Autotask PSA Account

1. Enter your username in the "User Name" field; an example is shown as "d_domotz@domotz.com".

2. Enter your password in the "Password" field.

3. Optionally, check the box labeled "Automatically close tickets, if possible" if you want the system to handle ticket closures automatically.

4. Click "Next" to proceed with the connection.

5. If you need to cancel the process, click "Cancel".

You also have the choice to select whether Autotask PSA tickets will be automatically closed when possible. This new feature allows you to save time and troubleshoot faster with Domotz and Autotask. For more information, visit the [Autotask PSA Integration article](https://help.domotz.com/user-guide/autotask-psa/).

## Fix

- Public API: the list of devices wrongly included the "hidden" devices as visible
- Incorrect evaluation of SNMP triggers on integer values has been fixed
- The monthly PDF report was not generated if the Device Section was not selected
- Araknis AN210 new login _rsa_key_ path was not supported
- Fixed issue on the Import of Settings and Properties when SNMP triggers are selected
- X-Frame configuration has been fixed to avoid iFrame (previously used for the Activation of Domotz Agents)

## **Known limitations**

- Monitoring Dashboards are currently limited to Monitoring Tables as Widgets. It is not possible to report some variables (e.g. the ones created by the Custom Drivers) within the Monitoring Tables.
- Custom Drivers functionality is still in Beta. It is still not possible to use all the protocols supported by Domotz native drivers (e.g. ssh, telnet, SNMP). In addition, custom "actions" are still not supported, as well as configuring alerts on the extracted values.
- VPN on demand is currently not supported on Luxul Router based Agents. As soon as Luxul’s team provides Domotz with the API resources to make this available, Domotz will add this capability.
- Devices with multiple network interfaces (multiple MAC addresses) can’t be merged into a single device. This affect also some type of switches which appear as multiple instances on Domotz when VLANs are configured.
- The static IP address on the Domotz Box cannot be configured before configuring the Agent.
- DHCP cannot be leveraged on additional VLANs on the Domotz Box.

This changelog covers what’s changed in the Domotz Pro service since previous Release Notes. These changes include Domotz Pro cloud, Domotz Agent and Domotz Pro App.
