New Features & Improvements

Domotz MCP

  • More reliable metric retrieval — Metric retrieval now handles partial or inconsistent device data gracefully, so MCP tools and reports return clean, usable results instead of failing on incomplete data.
  • Manage Custom Scripts through MCP — A new set of MCP tools makes it easy to manage your Custom Scripts from your favorite AI client. Browse and fetch starter templates, inspect script code, create, update, and delete scripts in your catalog, attach or detach scripts on devices, and run scripts directly — all without leaving your AI workflow.

Unified Alerts — Beta

The following enhancements are part of the Unified Alerts Beta. Reach out to support@domotz.com to request access or learn more.

  • Custom OID sensor names now visible in Device Details — Your custom-named OID sensors now show their custom name in the Device Details view, making each sensor easy to identify at a glance.

Profiles

  • More settings in the Profile Info module — The Profile Info module now includes Device Status Time Window, Make, Model, and Wake on LAN, giving you more ways to track and re-use device settings across your Profiles.

Onboarding & Discovery

  • Quick access to Discovery with progress at a glance — A new top-nav shortcut takes you straight to the Discovery page, with a circular progress indicator showing how initial device discovery is going — so new accounts can finish setup faster.

Coming Soon

The following are in development and not yet available.

  • Redesigned Custom Script Repository — The Custom Script Repository is getting a refresh with clearer browsing, easier discovery, and a smoother script management experience.
  • Export your Inventory data — Every entity in the Inventory Dashboard will soon be exportable, making it easier to bring your Domotz data into your other tools.

Bug Fixes

Alert Rules

  • Notification Channels now have refreshed icons (Telegram, Syncro, Webhook, ConnectWise), the “Test” button has moved to the right, and configuration and delete labels have been updated for clarity.

Alert History

  • Fixed: You can now reset the date-range filter after applying a time range.

Custom Scripts

  • Fixed: Config-management options now appear consistently on Custom Scripts.

Inventory

  • Fixed: Filters and columns on the Inventory dashboard no longer flicker while the page loads.

Device Management

  • Fixed: You can now save Customer Info on a Collector with the email and phone fields filled in, instead of getting a “Something Went Wrong!” error.
  • Fixed: The “Issues” badge in the Collector Explorer sidebar now matches the count shown in the Explorer view.

Topology

  • Fixed: On switch-to-switch links, the “Reached device” name now correctly matches the port information of the highlighted switch.

Integrations

  • Fixed: The IT Glue integrations page now loads correctly in both the Web and Desktop apps — no more “Aw Snap” or blank screens.

Platform

  • Fixed: Freemium users with an expired trial and no Collectors are no longer blocked by stacked modals (Download Collector on top of the trial-restart popup) and can now restart their trial smoothly.

MCP

  • Fixed: The get_metric MCP tool now reads text-like metric values correctly.

New Features & Improvements

Domotz MCP

  • Domotz MCP is now generally available — All Domotz users can now connect to the production Domotz MCP server, scoped to Troubleshooting, Reports, Configuration, and Remediation. Authentication uses OAuth, and every response carries a versioned v1 contract so AI clients can integrate reliably.
  • Richer, safer toolset — MCP tools are now tagged by action type (read-only, read-write, destructive, idempotent) so AI clients can prompt for confirmation before running risky operations. Deputy users have access to the full toolset, a new search endpoint helps AI clients find the right tool quickly, list_scripts returns parameter names and types, time-series analysis returns downscaled data, and credential tools share a consistent vocabulary with explicit “no secrets returned” disclaimers.
  • Not available on legacy plans — Legacy Lite, Legacy Advanced, and Residential plans don’t include full Public API access, so MCP is blocked on those plans with a clear message directing users to support.

Unified Alerts — Beta

The following enhancements are part of the Unified Alerts Beta. Reach out to support@domotz.com to request access or learn more.

  • Create alerts without a Contact Channel — Alert Rules can now be created without picking a Contact Channel up front. Channels can be added later via bulk actions.
  • Contact Channel test button — A new “Test” button on Contact Channels lets you fire a sample notification and verify the integration as soon as it’s configured. A “Send Test Alert” button is also available on the Collector Discovery page.
  • Contact Channel tooltip on Alert Rules — The Contact Channels column on the Alert Rules list now shows a tooltip with channel details.
  • IP Conflict alerts on Collector — IP conflict detection is now wired into the automatic Collector alerts pipeline.

Public API

  • Run custom scripts with parameters — Public API consumers can now pass custom parameters when executing scripts, unlocking more powerful detection and response automation.
  • Tag info on Unmanaged Devices — The Public API Unmanaged Device list now returns tag information, completing tag coverage across Public API device resources.

Onboarding & Discovery

  • Discovery page now covers alerts and notifications — Right after installing a Collector, the Discovery page now explains the Contact Channels available for alerts and notifications, helping new accounts get to value faster.
  • Setup Review covers every credentials protocol — Setup Review now lists every supported credentials protocol, giving operators full visibility into per-Collector credential coverage during onboarding.

Custom Scripts

  • New Script Documentation portal — Custom Driver documentation has moved to a fully redesigned Script Documentation portal with refreshed WinRM authentication coverage and improved navigation across all supported protocols.

Inventory

  • More precise Collector Name filter — Custom Filters for Collectors now support a more granular Name filter for advanced filtering scenarios.

Mobile

  • Profiles now available on mobile — The Profiles menu and feature are now accessible from the Domotz mobile app.

Technical & Infrastructure

  • Faster IP discovery — IP discovery now skips device-count probing when it isn’t needed, reducing scan time.

Bug Fixes

Public API

  • Fixed: /agent/{agent_id} now correctly returns WAN information.

MCP

  • Fixed: update_device_metadata no longer drops other parameters when an empty string is passed for notes. Metadata fields can now be cleared as documented.

Device Management

  • Fixed: A database sync error that had occasionally left newly-activated Collectors invisible in the portal and webapp.
  • Fixed: The Collector plan name now displays correctly in the Collector history log (no more “plan name not available”).
  • Fixed: Collector filters are now properly persisted across page reloads.
  • Fixed: The Inventory Collector filter no longer reloads after each checkbox click, allowing sequential multi-Collector selection.

Alert Rules

  • Fixed: Navigation from the Alert Rules “Applied to” column to Inventory works again.
  • Fixed: GET monitoring-profiles now handles Deputy users and accounts with zero Collectors correctly.

Mobile

  • Fixed: The main-page layout no longer breaks when the side navigation menu is open.

Platform

  • Fixed: Area Members can now access the “Change Password” section under Company.

Integrations

  • Fixed: The SonicWall CLI Backup driver now correctly filters lines matched by ignoredLines, eliminating spurious backup-change alerts triggered by volatile fields like system_time and system_uptime.

Topology

  • Fixed: Navigating to a device from Topology no longer shows an infinite loader.
  • Fixed: Manual links on the Topology are no longer dropped unexpectedly. [LIMITED]

New Features & Improvements

Unified Alerts — Beta

The following enhancements are part of the Unified Alerts Beta. Reach out to support@domotz.com to request access or learn more.

  • Bulk actions on Contact Channels — Update Contact Channels across multiple Alert Rules from the Inventory page in a single action, and apply Contact Channel changes to multiple entries in Alert History at once.
  • Separate incidents per variable on the same metric — When a single metric reports multiple values (for example, In and Out traffic on the same interface), each one is now tracked as its own incident in Alert History, so you can see and resolve them individually instead of as a single combined event.
  • Filter Alert History by date — Narrow your Alert History to a specific date range so you can quickly review what happened in any time window.
  • Smarter defaults for new Collectors — For accounts using Unified Alerts, default alert rules on newly-added Collectors are now created with the new Unified Alerts engine instead of the legacy shared-alert format, keeping the alerting experience consistent across all your Collectors.

Other Improvements

  • New pre-configured scripts – Added new ready-to-use scripts in Integrations → Automation & Scripts for monitoring Neat, HP Poly Lens, Epiphan Pearl, and Yealink M Core devices, plus an improved SonicWall CLI configuration backup script. These scripts help you bring AV, conferencing, and configuration-backup data into Domotz and take supported remote actions.
  • Larger branding logo size — You can now upload larger branding logos, giving you more room for higher-resolution assets and crisper branding throughout the app.
  • Setup Review covers all protocols — Setup Review now validates every monitoring protocol during onboarding, helping you catch configuration issues before they cause monitoring problems.

Coming Soon

The following are in development and not yet available.

  • Domotz MCP Tools — Domotz MCP Tools are being consolidated into a focused set of outcome-driven operations, grouping related capabilities together for a cleaner integration experience. Preparing for MVP launch.
  • Stripe Customer Portal for SQL users — If you’re on a SQL plan, you’ll soon be able to access the Stripe Customer Portal directly from Domotz to manage your billing details yourself.
  • AI-assisted alert setup — Early work on letting Domotz automatically suggest and assign the most relevant alerts for your devices during onboarding, so you spend less time on manual alert setup.
  • Mobile app polish — Multiple UI fixes coming to the Domotz mobile app, including navigation, alerts, device details, topology, remote-connection flows, and side-menu rendering.

Bug Fixes

Integrations

  • Fixed: Remote power actions on attached PDUs occasionally failing under heavy concurrent use.
  • Fixed: The Q360 ticketing integration now supports more than 10,000 customer sites, so large MSP deployments are no longer blocked by the previous limit.

Device Management

  • Fixed: The Custom Filter on the Collector Inventory page has been restored.
  • Fixed: IP cameras being mis-identified as Alarm Panels during device classification.

Monitoring

  • Fixed: Monitoring data collection could pause under heavy database load when unexpected non-numeric values appeared on numeric metrics. Those values are now skipped so data continues to flow without interruption.
  • Fixed: False configuration-misalignment alerts on Dell EMC devices with stable configurations.

Notifications

  • Fixed: The Contact Channels filter on the Alert Rules Inventory now lists only the channels you’ve actually configured. Tooltips were also added on Notification Channel icons.
  • Fixed: Navigation between Alert Rules and other states within the Alerts section.

Platform

  • Fixed: A slowness issue with API key authentication that could delay authenticated requests.
  • Fixed: A JavaScript error that had prevented the Collector Settings page from loading correctly.
  • Fixed: The Alerts section was showing tabs to users who didn’t have permission to access them.
  • Fixed: Loading indicators in the side-menu counters now display at the correct size.
  • Fixed: The Profiles table now remembers your filters and sort order across sessions, so you don’t have to reapply them every time you come back.

Technical & Infrastructure

  • Faster SNMP discovery on large networks — The Collector’s SNMP discovery path has been optimized to reduce per-interface overhead, so onboarding large environments is noticeably faster.
  • MCP server observability — Added observability tooling for the Domotz MCP server, giving us better visibility to support customers using MCP Tools as the feature rolls out.
  • Public API: agent_count on Tag responses — Tag responses in the Public API now include agent_count, the number of Collectors a tag is bound to. Editing a tag no longer requires color and name, matching the webapp behavior.
  • New MIB support — Expanded SNMP monitoring coverage for:
    • Fortinet FortiAP
    • H3C Equipment
    • Barracuda CloudGen Firewalls

New Features & Improvements: May 6, 2026

Unified Alerts — Beta

The following enhancements are part of the Unified Alerts Beta. Reach out to support@domotz.com to request access or learn more.

  • Unified Alerts is now the default for new users — New Domotz accounts now see only the redesigned Unified Alerts experience. The legacy Personal and Shared Alerts sections are hidden for them, making Unified Alerts the single alerting workflow for new users.
  • Bulk actions across Alert Rules and Alert History — Manage many alerts at once. Bulk-edit, delete, and act on Alert Rules, and bulk-act on Alert History entries.
  • Persisted filters and sorting in Alert Rules inventory — Filters and sorting on the Alert Rules inventory now persist across sessions, so your view is preserved next time you come back.

Other Improvements

  • Side-menu Collector counters — The side-menu now shows live counters for Collectors, giving an at-a-glance view of inventory directly from navigation.
  • Discovery page restyle — Refreshed look-and-feel for the Discovery page, making it easier to review and onboard newly discovered devices.

Monitoring

  • Fixed: Versa SD-WAN MIB monitoring.

Public API

  • Fixed: Missing information returned by GET /agent in the Public API.

Notifications

  • Fixed: Alert Rules Inventory filter by Notification Channel, which previously didn’t apply correctly.

Platform

  • Fixed: Session Token autorenewal so user sessions refresh as expected, preventing unexpected logouts.
  • Fixed: Fullscreen CSP violation on the Domotz app that had prevented fullscreen mode in some views.
  • Fixed: Domotz Collector crash loop triggered by malformed SNMP responses (null OID values) during interface discovery. Affected Collectors now recover gracefully instead of restarting indefinitely.

Technical & Infrastructure

For technically-minded customers and integrators.

  • Custom Tags on Collector responses (Public API) — The Public API now enriches Collector responses with the Custom Tags bound to each Collector, enabling downstream integrations to filter and group by tag.
  • WinRM with HTTPS support — Domotz Collectors now support HTTPS for WinRM monitoring of Windows devices, enabling secure remote management on networks where plain HTTP is not allowed.
  • WinRM client reliability improvements — Stability and reliability improvements to the WinRM client used for remote Windows device monitoring.
