This article covers our Custom Filter feature available on Domotz.
On both the “Sites” and “Devices” sections, you can save and re-use “custom filters” to get to the information you frequently need very quickly.
To create and save a filter in your inventory dashboard follow these steps. For example, select “Status: offline” and “Type: Servers” and then select “Save Custom Filter:”

1. To filter devices by status, select "Offline" in the Status filter. This will show only devices that are currently offline.
2. To narrow the selection by device type, select "Server" in the Type filter. This will display only servers that are offline.
3. Once your desired filters are set, click "Save Custom Filter" to save this configuration for future use.

1. In the "Save Custom Filter" dialog, locate the "Filter Name" field.
2. Enter the desired filter name. For example, "Servers Offline."
3. Click the "Save" button to save the custom filter.
4. To cancel without saving, click the "Cancel" button.
Use this feature to efficiently manage and access devices based on custom criteria.
On the far right side of the inventory dashboard you will see that you are using your custom filter:

1. Use the "Servers Offline" dropdown to view servers that are currently offline.
2. Notice the indicators showing counts: "4 With Configured Alerts" and "46 Not Configured" to identify server alert statuses.
3. Below the options, there are columns labeled "Make | Model,” “IP | MAC Address,” “Location | Zone,” “Tags,” and “Insights.” You can filter results using the search fields beneath these labels.
After defining your custom filters, you will be able to see a list and use them. Just click the “Select a Custom Filter” button which will apply the custom filter you select:
Applying a Custom Filter to Device Inventory
1. Navigate to the "Devices" tab under the "Inventory" section.
2. Click on "Select a Custom Filter" to open filter options.
3. Use the filters to refine your search for specific devices by criteria such as site, device name, status, or type.
4. Review the filtered list of devices displayed below, which includes columns for Site, Device Name, Status, and Type.

1. Navigate to the "Inventory" section, and select the "Devices" tab at the top.
2. View the total number of devices, which is 624, with 268 online, and 155 marked as important.
3. Access the "Custom Filters" dropdown to manage device view options.
4. Choose "No Custom Filters" to see the default list of devices.
5. Select "Servers Offline" to filter and view only offline servers by status and type.
6. Select "Switches" to filter and view switch devices by status and type.
To clear the custom filters you were viewing and get the list back, just select the first X icon left to the ‘Filtered by’ label:
Clearing Site Filter in Device Inventory
1. To remove the site filter from the device inventory view, click the "X" next to "Filtered by: Site."
2. This will clear the current filter and display all devices in the inventory.
Remember to click the "Devices" tab at the top to ensure you are in the correct section.
